President Obama promised yesterday that long-awaited regulations requiring insurance companies to provide mental health care coverage are due soon. The rules, required by the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act, prohibit insurance companies from charging higher deductibles for mental health services than they charge for physical health.
