Job overview
The Marketing and Communications Coordinator (MCC) will be responsible for coordinating marketing communications activities within and emanating from INTO CSU to build awareness and drive student recruitment from the global markets to INTO Marshall. The MCC is line managed by the INTO Marshall Marketing & Recruitment Manager. The MCC will organize and implement a wide range of activities/tactics as defined within the annual marketing plan, and will provide marketing and sales support for emerging needs.

Key accountabilities and duties
This is a new role in a growing, dynamic organization. Accountabilities of the position may change and develop over time.

The MCC will be responsible for contributing to/and or generating content for the following audiences:

  • Center students and staff
  • INTO Senior Management
  • INTO Marshall JV Board
  • INTO Sales and Marketing Staff in Regional Offices
  • Marshall University constituents
  • Local Media Partners and Audiences
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

INTO Marshall Brochure Development and Production

  • Support the development of the annual INTO Marshall brochure by acting as liaison to Center leadership staff, and other key campus stakeholders:
o Managing to a master project timeline, provide project management support within the Center to ensure key stakeholders complete their deliverables on schedule.
o Assist with acquisition of new information needed for brochure and ensure accuracy of existing content.
o Coordinate and provide logistical support for photo shoot(s) including recruiting and scheduling students for shoot(s).

Student Advocacy

  • Engage with current students to generate authentic, first person content that can be used to provide
o Develop and organize a bank of print and video student testimonials by proactively recruiting/identifying students (with representation from all programs and all nationalities), creating testimonial content in tandem with the student, photographing students, coordinating with internal or external design resources to produce testimonials in approved design template, and ensuring
o Appropriate distribution of final testimonials including posting on INTO Marshall website and forwarding to INTO Regional offices.
o Maintain INTO Marshall presence on all appropriate social media sites; regularly author and post new content.
o Increase the volume of activity on INTO Marshall social media sites by facilitating greater involvement from current students.

Sales Support

  • Source center-specific and university-focused news for use in social media channels and newsletter(s).
  • Assist with revisions to existing sales materials (flyers, one-sheets) and the creation of new materials by obtaining new content, confirming accuracy of existing content, and soliciting review/approval from appropriate stakeholders.
  • Obtain Marshall-branded promotional items and ship to appropriate locations in support of recruiting events.
Web Maintenance and Content Development
  • Ensure timely, accurate web content is uploaded to intohigher.com/marshall.
  • Work with Center leadership and staff on ongoing basis to identify new content that can be posted on a regular basis to ensure that the site is dynamic and as current as possible.
Event Planning
  • Organize and manage visits from key agents, sponsors and influencers.
  • Coordinate with university staff to organize events for the campus or greater Huntington community to learn about the INTO Marshall program
Location
This position is based at INTO Marshall in Huntington, West Virginia

Salary
Under review. Includes a full benefit package including Medical, Dental, Life/ADD, STD, and 401k.

Qualifications

Academic qualifications

Essential
An undergraduate (Bachelor's) degree in marketing, advertising or a related discipline
Experience
Minimum 2 years of experience on a marketing or communications team or in an advertising or public relations agency

Desirable
Experience working in higher education

Experience studying abroad

Knowledge

Essential
Proficiency in PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office applications

Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite (particularly InDesign)

A working knowledge of web analytics (Google Analytics), search engine optimization and social media

Desirable
An understanding of the creative development and production process

Familiarity with website content management systems (Umbraco)

Familiarity with project management software (Basecamp)

Familiarity with email marketing platforms (Dotmailer)

Knowledge of AP style

Proficiency in a second language other than English

Skills/Abilities

Essential
Exceptional writing and editing skills

Highly detailed with strong project management skills

A self-starter who is comfortable working independently with limited oversight and direction

Capable of frequently meeting tight deadlines

Able to communicate effectively with diverse audiences and build relationships with peers, senior managers, University stakeholders and external vendors
